This collection is inspired by the Elder Futhark Runes, the oldest form of the runic alphabet. Runic inscriptions held magical powers. With the aid of inscriptions, you could predict the future, protect a person against misfortune, imbue objects with different qualities, or you could write down conjurations, curses, and spells. The word rune comes from the Germanic word for mystery or secret. Every pin has a small inscription – giving meaning to the symbol that you’re wearing as a talisman.
